Essie Bikini So Teeny Collection

Hi guys! I went to Rite-Aid yesterday and was surprised to see that they had the new collection from Essie, Bikini So Teeny.  I picked up three out of six.  I may go back and get one more. For some reason I'm drawn to their polishes! Anyway on to the swatches!

I just have to start by saying how surprised I am at these three polishes. I'm a big fan of Essie, but sometimes they have some bad formulas. And when they are bad, they are real bad. But these three  are amazing! Great job Essie!  On all swatches I did two coats of polish and no top coat.

Bikini So Teeny is a cornflower blue with little tiny shimmers. Sometimes you can see it but most of the time you can't. I still really like it!

After I painted it on my nails I realized that I have some similar colors.

1. Revlon, Dreamer   2. Essie, Bikini So Teeny( BST)  3. Sinful Colors,  Morning Star

Dreamer is just a tiny bit darker than BST, but for the most part it is the same color just with out the tiny shimmers. Morning Star has bigger shimmers that you can see and is darker than Dreamer and BST. These all have great formulas.
Off The Shoulder is a medium hot pink cream. I could not get my camera to photograph the correct color on my nails. Made it look neon. They photos below are more accurate.

I found some similar polishes.

1. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, Presto Pink  2. Essie, Off The Shoulder( OTS )  3. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength, Ruby Sequin

Presto Pink is the perfect dupe for OTS. Ruby Sequin is darker.

Mojito Madness, a true grass green. Cream finish. I don't really like how it looks on all of my nails but, I would love to use it as an accent color. I don't have anything like this one. I'm not really into greens, but something about it just makes me want it!

Overall these are great polishes! If you don't want to spend the $ on Essie go for Revlon, Dreamer and Sally H., Presto Pink. They are great polishes as well!

I just want to thank all of you who follow me and read my blog. Thanks for supporting me!

Glitter, Glitter, and more Glitter!

Happy Friday! So today I wanted to show you some swatches of some of my favorite glitter polishes. I'm going to make it short and sweet so it won't take forever to get through this post. Hope you like!

OPI, Crown Me Already is jammed packed with four different sized silver glitter. Opaque in two coats.

OPI, Teenage Dream is a pink glitter with holographic hexagons in it. Beautiful! Two coats.

Sally Hansen Gem Crush, Big money is hard to describe. It is like a champagne gold glitter with bigger hexagons that look silver but reflects purple. I love this one! Two coats.

Color Club, Magic Attraction is all holographic glitter. It looks so much better in person. If you love glitter and don't have this you need to get it. Two coats.

Claire's, Night Sky is a mix of navy blue glitter and holographic glitter. Two coats.

Essie, A Cut Above is so beautiful! It is a mix of different sized pink shiny glitter. I love it! Two Coats.

China Glaze, Techno is a clear base with tiny silver glitter with big hexagon shaped holographic glitter. The holo really stands out in this polish. One coat of glitter over two coats of L'oreal, jet set to paris.

China Glaze, Fairy Dust a clear base with super fine holographic glitter. It is so much prettier in person than in the photo. It is the perfect glitter just to add to jazz up any manicure!  One coat of glitter over two coats L'oreal, jet set to pairs.

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear, Set the Stage clear base with small and large gold glitter. I love this one because it just adds a touch of sparkle. Two coats of glitter over one coat of Sinful Colors, Outrages.

I really hope this was useful! I loved to hear your favorite glitter polishes!

Summer Neons! Essie, Orly, & Fingerpaints

Hi guys!  Essie, Orly, and Fingerpaints have come out with neon polish collections. I only got one from each. After staring at them for awhile they kinda start to look all the same. China Glaze has a neon collection due out in June. I really have high hopes for that one. Anyway, on to the polishes!

Fingerpaints, Warhol Wannabe

two coats, no top coat
Fingerpaints, Warhol Wannabe, a bright neon pink. I absolutely love this polish! It was so easy to apply! Most neon's dry matte but this baby has some shine to it. You can't see it in the first picture but you can in the second one. This would really look amazing with a tan!

two coats, no top coat
They are seven colors in this collection. Fingerpaints is a great brand. They have awesome formula's and they are budget friendly! $4.99 They are only sold at Sally Beauty Supply

Orly, Skinny Dip

three coats, no top coat

Orly, Skinny Dip is a bright medium blue with slight blue shimmers. It is part of Feel The Vibe collection. This polish was on the thin side, but easy to apply. I was hoping it would be brighter that it is, but I'm still glad I have it.

Essie, Action

three coats, plus top coat

Essie, Action is a neon tangerine orange. From the Poppy Razzi collection. I have to start by saying I'm so disappointed in this polish. It is super watery,it was streaky when I applied it, and it is not the color in the bottle. That is the whole reason I picked this polish was because I thought it would be the pretty light neon orange that it looked to be in the bottle. But it dried much darker. Essie is one of my favorite brands, but this polish sucks!

Essie 2012 Wedding Collection Swatches

I have the Essie 2012 Wedding Collection for you all today!  Let me just start by saying that I was surprised by this collection. I thought that they were going to be very sheer polishes. Goods news is they are pretty opaque. Bad news is the formula on all four was hard to work with. The more strokes you do the more bald and uneven spots you get. For that reason they all take at least three coats. Honestly I don't care. I still really like this collection! On to the swatches!

First up we have Instant Hot, a creamy off white with silver shimmers. My favorite of the bunch! It is the perfect bridal color! The silver shimmers looks kinda dull on the nail, but I think that is the way it is supposed to be. Very pretty look. My picture doesn't do this polish justice.

no top coat

Next we have Like to be Bad, a muted peachy pink with orange and magenta shimmers. The shimmers don't really show up on the nail, but still very pretty. This would be my second fav.

no top coat

Third polish is Love & Acceptance, a light muted grey toned lavender. Cream finish. Pretty, but I don't really like grey toned polishes on my ghostly pale skin. This is my least favorite.

no top coat
The last polish is Who is the Boss, a light muted grey toned blue green. Sometimes it looks more like a muted mint green and sometimes it looks like a muted aqua. Very strange. Cream finish. I actually like this color. I'm happy to have this.

no top coat

Hope you all like this post. This collection has got me in the mood to do some wedding nail art. I'm going to be doing three different wedding nail looks for the upcoming wedding season!

White roses nail art

Happy April!
I love this time of year! So today I have this really cute and simple nail art. Wanted to do something fresh and sweet. Hope you like!

For my base color I used two coats of Essie Nude Beach. It is a very sheer shimmery light pink. In the light it has green and gold shimmers. Very pretty for just a little hint of something on your nail. For the roses I used  Folk Art white acrylic paint. For a little sparkle I added OPI Crown Me Already in the center of my roses with a dotting tool. Top coat and your done! :)

Essie, to buy or not to buy

Happy Friday! Today I have a polish from Essie's spring 2012 collection. It's called, to buy or not to buy. It's a pale lilac with BEAUTIFUL shimmers in it.

The only thing is the  shimmers don't really show up on the nail. Bummer, that was why I liked this polish so much. Anyway, I was in Sally's yesterday and I seen this shimmer, glitter polish by Orly called, love each other. It was so pretty I just had to have it. :)

Orly ,love each other, is this beautiful purple and pink shimmer in a clear base. When you add this on top of the essie polish it just makes it so pretty. I love it!

Spring Flower nail art

Happy Monday!
So for today I wanted to do something fun and spring like. So this it what I came up with. I hope you enjoy!

I used Essie mint candy apple on my ring finger and thumb. Orly lollipop on the rest of my nails. Two coats with both colors. Both of them are creams. Mint candy apple is on the thick side and was streaky but evened out with second coat. Lollipop is thick too but applied so much better the mint candy apple. For the flower I used acrylic paint by Folk Art in the color, baby pink. I used rhinestones for the centers.  You can't really tell, but I put a dot of lollipop in center of flower then added the rhinestone on top. Then I just added my top coat.

I really hope you liked this! Let me know what you think!
